What's up and welcome to me, you and Switch 2. I am me, Tom Tate, and you are you. So let's talk about Switch 2. This is the latest and greatest
Nintendo Switch 2 news brought to you every Tuesday and Friday in snackable five to 10 minute episodes. Today happens to be Tuesday.
It is October 20th. It is 9.17 a.m. on the East Coast. This is episode 145.
I'm a little late to the game today, but it's going to be a quick episode.
So let's just jump right into it.
There are a few reviews that i read over the weekend it turns out the witch's bakery which is a cozy game it's kind of like a cooking sim uh narrative driven uh it looks very much like the movie kiki's delivery service if you've ever seen that i shouldn't say movie it's an animated feature film fantastic one uh, this game appears to be a bit deeper than you might think nintendo life's michelle c though gave it an 8 out of 10 i'm going to read a quote from the actual review, she wrote on the surface the witch's bakery is a simple cozy adventure sim about a young witch running a bakery, but bite into those flaky pastry layers and you'll find a creamy center a narratively strong game with mental health themes the emotional issues are handled gently never oversimplified and feel universal, between loon curing customers regrets and the bigger darker storylines this 15 hour game acknowledges that emotions are tough.
And that there's no magic fix still it's a reminder that whenever when everything seems terrible sometimes all you need is a friend to listen and a little sweet treat.
This game looks really cute the joys in the review hearty and moorish gameplay sweet story crafted with care and flavorful flavorful backdrop arts, uh the cons unsavory controls and menus and some mini games are flaky i love the.
The weaving of the baking and cooking language into the review very well done, also over at Nintendo life there is a 9 out of 10 review of Trails in the Sky second chapter which is an RPG, a lengthy one at that and Eternal Anima there's a upcoming, this is an upcoming retro style turn based RPG there's a preview this game's not coming out until next March but I will link to the review of
Trails in the Sky and the preview of Eternal Anima if you want some light reading this week. It looks really promising.
Some JRPG veterans are working on this game. The art style looks very cool.
I'm going to link to both of these.
In other news, Gravity Circuit 2 is getting an official Switch 2 release.
I played the first one. Great game. And there's a game called Peak.
It's like a climbing sim. It'll be arriving on Switch 2 next week.
It's been on Steam for at least a year, I think.
But this game was kind of like a super fan favorite, very well-reviewed last year.
And it wasn't on our list in the beginning of the month of games releasing in
October, but apparently it will release in October.
One game that was supposed to release in October, but will not, is Wolf Among Us Remastered.
I read that the game will be delayed and the release date is currently unknown.
That's really it for today. Not a lot of news. There are some big games dropping on the 22nd, though. So in two days, we're going to get Final Fantasy Resonance for $49.99.
We're going to get Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Standard Edition for $20.
Cotton Reboot. Cotton is a cute-em-up.
If you've ever heard that term, it's like a shoot-em-up, but cute.
That's going to release. It's on sale for $27. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is on $10.22.
That game is releasing for $50. Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced Nintendo
Switch 2 Edition is releasing.
That's gonna release for $45 on sale.
That is a collection. It has Azure Striker Gunvolt 1, 2014, Striker Gunvolt 2, 2016, and Striker Gunvolt 3, 2022.
So you're getting three great games in that collection.
And all the dlc and i want to say uh that call of duty is releasing the campaign uh, released if you pre-ordered uh that was one of the bonuses you get early access to the campaign and we're starting to see some impressions i read through a few pretty positive i didn't go deep into that because i figured we'll just check out the reviews when they drop after the full game is released, so that's going to be it for today i hope that you have a fantastic week uh reviews sharing the show with a friend or family member is the best way to help other listeners discover it.
As always, I want to thank you so much for your time and your attention. Much love.
I'll be back on Friday. Now go play some games.
