Every Game Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in November! ๐ | Ep. 149
Let's be honest... it's Ocarina of Time month!
Transcript
What's up and welcome to meet you and Switch 2. I am me, Tom Tates, and you are you.
So let's talk about Switch 2. This is the latest and greatest Nintendo Switch 2 news brought to you every Tuesday and Friday in snackable five to 10 minute episodes.
But you know, today is not going to be 10 minutes. Today will be a longer episode.
It is Tuesday. It is November 3rd. It is 8.02am on the East Coast. This is episode 149.
I hope that you had a great Halloween weekend. If you were into that sort of thing, I'm actually not into Halloween at all.
So much so that last Friday when I signed off for the show, it didn't even occur to me to wish you a happy Halloween. But nonetheless, I hope that you enjoyed it. If you have kids, I hope your kids had a blast. My kids had so much fun. They love Halloween.
I just sat around and watched Philadelphia basketball, which was great.
So if you are new to the show i just want to welcome you every first episode of the month i run through every game that we know of that is releasing on switch to that month and the release date the price, you know a quick intro on each game if i have it, there are always games that shadow drop like mid-month so this covers everything that we know of today i use the eShop kind of as my guide, but I have a couple of games kind of earmarked that might be outside of the eShop.
Just a quick pro tip. I always share this before we start. If anything sounds interesting, go into the eShop and give it a favorite. You just click the little heart icon, because if you do this, you can do it on the web. They have a mobile app.
You can do it on Switch 2 itself. You will get notified when your wishlisted games go on sale.
So I got to say, yesterday, I didn't have this on my wishlist, but a buddy of mine sent me a text message.
But I bought the second Final Fantasy VII Remake game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, last night for $7.50.
That's just insane to me. $7.50 for so much game.
I double dipped because i already played this on ps5 but like that's the kind of stuff that i'm talking about if you favorite it and you get just a quick notification for seven dollars and fifty cents you're getting hours and hours of gameplay, for a game that reviewed really well and is running great on switch too, okay let's get this show rolling since we have a lot of game to cover so first up today, we have november 3rd godzilla destroy all monsters melee remastered this is a 2002 arena fighter from the gamecube era.
It is built in unreal engine 5 by pipeworks who is the original developer of the game it is published by atari this new version brings enhanced visuals 12 playable monsters and new kind of online multiplayer support it is $29.99 in the eShop today we also have let's sing, 2027 coming out today this is a yearly karaoke game no pricing in the eShop as far as I can see.
You can apparently use your cell phone to sing so you don't have to use a special microphone.
But it has actual music that you would recognize. Lady Gaga,
Bruno Mars, Alex Warren, Drake, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and a whole lot more.
I think there's over 30 songs. So definitely check that out if you're looking for a good party game.
And we have Zero Parades Director's Cut from the studio behind Disco Elysium.
This is listed for Switch 2 to be released today. It's been on PC since May 2026, and the Director's Cut is kind of a free update here.
Style-wise, this game looks very, very slick, just like Disco Elysium did.
Zero Parades got an 83 Metacritic score as of today.
The summary in the eShop. I'm going to read it verbatim.
Brilliant, burnt out, possibly cursed. You play as Operant Herschel Wilk, alias Cascade.
Five years ago, you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since.
Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.
Actually, I think that summary from Steam. $39.99. Also on November 4th, there's this creepy looking anime action game called Crime Lights for $19.99.
And in just a couple of days, Thursday, November 5th, this is the big one, honestly.
Maybe the only Switch 2 game that matters for the rest of the year,
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.
This is a full remake of the 1998 classic that released on nintendo 64 it's a switch 2 exclusive this is not coming to switch one it was built for switch 2, it is $59.99 digitally and $69.99 physically some retailers like walmart amazon they had the physical version at $59.99 for pre-order that's how i got it, though i did read an article that some walmart's pre-orders got dropped because they overbought or were oversold and underbought I'm not sure.
Hopefully that didn't affect you at all.
I covered this game extensively. I mean, we talked about this so much over the past, you know, six months or so. So I won't say much more other than.
I have this game pre-ordered and ready to go. I cannot be more excited for this.
Nintendo also released a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 console in
October with matching pro controllers, a carrying case, Amiibo, the whole nine.
They are celebrating Zelda in a big way. So if you're looking for merch, they have plenty.
I just can't believe it's finally here. I just played maybe four to six hours of Ocarina of Time 3D on Nintendo 3DS.
And I made it to Adult Link and then I just stopped. The game still holds up so well.
I can't wait to jump back into it. I didn't want to get too deep into this game.
I just wanted a taste, right, before I dive into the new remake.
I actually haven't played this game in maybe like 12 years.
So just jumping back into it and getting a feel for it, I think was important for me. Like I just wanted to have a good reference point before I hopped back in to the world and experienced the new Switch remake.
Uh stellar blade complete edition is also releasing on november 5th and this is from shift up 5999 stellar blade is a game that launched in 2024 as a playstation 5 exclusive then it came to pc.
This is the first time it's coming to a non-playstation console, just reading from the e-shop it says reclaim earth for humankind in this stylish fast-paced action adventure i'm assuming the complete edition includes the base game plus any available DLC to date.
And I also think this was the game that added a free Bayonetta skin or set of outfits launching the same day on Switch 2, PS5, PC, all that stuff. 100% on a physical 32 gigabyte game card. That's a big deal.
I mean, this is not a game key card. It's like the whole game is on the card.
Which is nice to see. I know a lot of people care about that and I think that's valid.
So if you pick up the physical edition you're getting the full game on a 32 gigabyte card,
The same day, Thursday, we have Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition.
This will release for $39.99. There's a 10% pre-order discount, so it'll be $35.99 for a bit. This is a 2021 release.
On Switch 1, it was only available as a cloud version.
I don't know if you've experienced these cloud versions, but they traditionally just didn't perform well.
Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil, they just stuttered.
People did not like the cloud version games on switch one so it's nice to have it on switch two this one, adds an exclusive which is a new set of 80s glam rock outfits which sounds pretty cool and there are also some, great performance enhancements especially in docked mode so if you're playing docked mode it'll run really well apparently i've had this on my to play list for a very long time in, 2021 it was at the top of a lot of top five top 10 lists of podcasts that i listened to, including the player one podcast those guys uh unanimously really appreciated this game and i really always resonate it and respect it their top five and top 10 lists so uh.
Guardians of the galaxy there's an interesting annapurna game called far away, uh dropping on the fifth for ten dollars,
Far Away is an endlessly procedurally generated mastery-driven arcade game about a shooting star that creates constellations to stay alive. That's the quote from the eShop.
This game looks really interesting too. It does look very arcade-y, which might be right up your alley.
Another $10 game releasing on the 5th is Chivalware. Self-proclaimed fast-paced action roguelite with tactical tile matching mechanics.
It's just funny. Chivalware sounds like shovelware to me, which is not something you want to tout.
But for $10, maybe you want to check out Chivalware.
Then we have releasing on November 5th as well.
November 5th is a crazy day. We have Shelterra the Skyworld.
This is a traditional turn-based fantasy RPG from Kimco.
It's set on a floating continent. The game already exists on mobile, and I will say, looking at the graphics, it looks very, very mobile.
Not in a great way, in my opinion.
It looks like kind of shovelware for mobile, but I don't think it is.
I peeked at the Google Play reviews, and they're really not bad.
So RPG fans, don't dismiss Shelterra the Skyworld, Nintendo Switch 2 edition based on looks alone. Check out some reviews. $19 for this one.
November 10th is a big day, especially if you're a fan of the hit franchise, Shrek.
Because DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered is releasing for $29.99. 10% pre-order discount, $26.99 through November 17th.
This game, it's a rebuild of the 2004 movie tie-in game that released.
So we're thinking GameCube era, Xbox era.
This could be a really fun one to pop into. It was only announced a few weeks ago, so this one is dropping pretty fast. The reveal trailer was styled after the GTA 6 trailers, which is kind of tongue-in-cheek and fun.
I'm reading the description here from the eShop.
It says, the cult classic button-mashing co-op adventure is back with all your favorite characters and improved graphics. And I will say, the visuals in the trailer look really, really good. This game looks pretty performant.
It's also on Switch 1, PS5, Xbox, and PC. and i've said it before i really miss, licensed movie tie-in games i remember the days where every single movie that released had a game, and that was awesome i mean that was really great and it wasn't that long ago i remember playing uh the mummy demastered uh which was based on tom cruz's the mummy and that game is phenomenal so if you want to play a good game check out the mummy demastered.
But all the Jurassic Park games, all the Disney games, I loved all that stuff, right? So it would be nice to play more licensed movie tie-in games.
Also on November 10th, for $29.99, we have Hasbro Games Junior Collection.
This is your classic board game collection.
It is tailored to kids specifically. So Monopoly Junior, Clue Junior, and The Game of Life Junior, all packaged into one game. All great games.
I enjoyed playing those games with my kids.
They're a little old for these now, but I'd be curious to see how this game plays.
Also on the 10th, we have Warhammer Survivors from Auric Digital.
It's a Vampire Survivors-like game. you know, kind of bullet heaven games set across Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar.
Is it bullet heaven or bullet hell? I'm not sure. Warhammer Survivors.
November 10th also will bring RackCoin Chaos Max Edition for $11.99.
This is a coin pusher roguelite deck builder, which is an interesting string of words.
The Switch 2 version adds an exclusive arcade cabinet skin and joy con 2 mouse controls there's a free demo on the e-shop now now coin pusher, is one of those games where like you put the coin through the slot and then it goes through a bunch of things and then it drops on with a bunch of other coins and the whole point is to get it.
To leverage the coin that you push to push other coins off like a little cliff you see them in casinos you see them in arcades you see them on the boardwalk this game is already on steam it's reviewing well we just saw this i think on the indie world showcase so we talked about this last week last friday uh, it looks very very addicting um tanuki pawns summer is also releasing on november 10th we also just covered this game after the indie world showcase you play as pawn a tanuki on a bmx bike delivering mail across various towns you're trying to earn money to rebuild a shrine before a big festival.
Uh, if you buy this on switch one, it unlocks the switch to version at no extra cost and vice versa.
It's $20 right now. It's coming to other platforms as well.
I think there's a demo on steam right now. So if you're interested in this game and the art style, uh, you can check it out on steam.
If you have access to that, uh, November 11th and 12th, there are a few games, that I honestly can't tell if they're eShop slop or not.
So I apologize if these are great games that deserve more time but i'm just going to list them out here in the interest of time castle bound 9.99 adorable adventures 1999 and supermarket simulator 1999, there are bigger titles to get to releasing on the 12th, starting with pikamin 4 nintendo switch 2 edition plus dan dory academy if you own pikamin 4 on switch 1 the upgrade pack is 9.99 the standalone version is listed at 60 dollars digitally.
The Switch 2 edition adds Dandori Academy. This is a new mode of exam stages where you are doing a test, a challenge.
You race to collect treasure.
There's some easier stages, some more harder stages. There are 72 total that they will release over time.
It will also bring voice commands, game share for some modes, and enhanced resolution, I think up to 4K in docked mode.
So Pikmin 4 came out on Switch in 2023. And we covered the Switch 2 edition when it was announced.
They had like a small Pikmin Direct. I think they had a Pikmin thing over the weekend too.
I'm not covering the news today. I'm just covering the releases.
But I did catch that Pikmin Direct that released, I think, maybe on Halloween.
Also on the 12th, we have Metaphor ReFantasio from Atlus. This earned a 90-something on Metacritic on PS5. The Switch 2 version is coming in at a lower price, which is nice, $39.99.
It's a much-loved RPG from the Persona team, if you're familiar with this game.
There's a free prologue demo on the eShop now that you can check out.
I haven't played this one specifically or any Persona games.
I've just been intimidated by their length.
But I think that these games Persona plus Metaphor will find a nice home on Switch too.
There's another big game coming out on November 12th, and it's actually a collection of games.
You really want to have this one on your radar. It is Barbie Rewind.
It's from Atari and Digital Eclipse.
It will release for $29.99.
But the amount of things just crammed into this package, it's really nice.
So it combines this new pixel art Barbie Dreamhouse decorating simulator, which has 250 plus furniture and decoration items to unlock, which is hours of fun i mean if you're decorating barbie's dream house with 250 plus furniture and items i mean you're gonna be playing this game for a long time well into 2027, um with in addition to that that's not even the game that's not even the game that's just in addition to 16 classic barbie games from the y2k era, including, a never released 1994 Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo game, Barbie Vacation Adventure.
So you're getting so much here for $29.99.
But if you want to level up, there's a $59.99 deluxe physical edition with an exclusive Barbie doll wearing a super cool Atari shirt.
Barbie's got some streaks in her hair.
There's a poster included. but i will say the physical versions are just switch one cards that i guess unlock or play on the switch to i actually didn't see this in the e-shop so it's possible that this is just a switch one release technically.
I'm being a little silly with this one but this actually looks like a fantastic package digital eclipse always does an amazing job and i do have some barbie fans in my house so i don't know if maybe this is something to look into for uh for the holidays or a gift or something like that.
Okay, there is a narrative adventure game called Harold Halibut, where everything appears to look handmade.
It is inspired by stop motion animation. It originally came out in April 2024 on other consoles and PC.
I'm actually not seeing this in the eShop, but I saw some news articles that it will ship on the 12th.
So we'll just have to keep an eye out for that one.
Next, we have Moomin Midsummer Madness also on the 12th 1999 it's a point and click adventure from Crossbridge Game Studios and,
Shijiko Games it's based on the novel Moomin Summer Madness and it's in the
Moomin franchise so if you see Moomin you kind of will recognize some of these characters there's a free demo on the eShop looks like a very cute game, after that on November 16th we have Spirit Crossing for $29.99 this is a cozy online multiplayer life sim, right so think uh think animal crossing style game uh this is from spry, fox the developer of cozy grove where you build a home you help wandering spirits and make friends uh we saw this on something maybe it was uh, one of the indie showcases or one of the directs i can't recall if it was a direct but i definitely caught this uh announcement, when it first came out the art style is very very vibrant i think this could be a fun one if you're a fan of this cozy genre, on november 19th 2026 it is a big day we have grand theft auto 6 releasing obviously this is not coming to switch 2 but it's being touted as one of the biggest game releases of all time, i think it'll be really solid it'll probably review really well maybe perfect tens at a lot in a lot of outlets uh because of how ambitious it is and i'm sure it will be fun to play but.
I mean, I was thinking about this. Wouldn't it be hilarious?
Just hilarious if it sells poorly, like the base price is $80.
So it's not nothing. Uh, I'm sure it's not going to sell poorly, but wouldn't it be hilarious if it just didn't sell?
Well, if people just didn't have the appetite for GTA six that we think they will, I'm not really sure.
Uh, I'm not going to pick up this game. Not because I have anything against GTA.
I just have not played a GTA game since i don't know vice city and just because it's new and big and ambitious, i'm just not really feeling the pull to it personally but if you're looking forward to gta 6 i really hope that it lives up to your expectations and i hope that you enjoy your time with it, and you have like a week or two to get ocarina of time out of the way right just just plow through it and then you'll be all ready for grand theft auto 6, okay november 19th on switch 2 we are getting uh, the binding of isaac repentance plus this is also coming to ps5 and xbox uh self-proclaimed i'm reading this verbatim the most complete and up-to-date version of the game that redefined the modern roguelike genre, this will include the binding of isaac rebirth plus all of the dlc it is 60, on the e-shop as it's listed now,
After that, we have Reverie in the Moonlight. This is a roguelike action game.
It's getting a Nintendo Switch 2 edition on November 19th, 879.
And it supports mouse controls.
Okay, we have two more. Also on the 19th, we have Sumi Kogurashi,
Welcome to Poka Poka Onsen.
This game, I'm sure I butchered the pronunciation of that game, but this is based on the San X or Son X character brand.
And these are kind of cute, colorful, animated characters. You would probably recognize them if you saw them. This is a audio podcast, which is very unfortunate when describing something so visual.
I wish this was kind of a YouTube video. I'd be able to just flash it on screen, but I'm pretty sure this is a mini game focused game, kind of casual, cozy looking, but you might want to check this one out.
And then closing out the month, the last game I'm seeing in the eShop is Marupoyo,
The Round Chicks Adventure, November 26th. It is a tilt-based physics platformer about a chick that is so round, he can only roll.
So I'm going to read the eShop description here. A tilt-based platformer game for everyone. Players control Maru Poyo's momentum as he rolls through 120 vibrant levels, avoiding obstacles, exploring, and rescuing his lost siblings.
If this controls well with the tilt mechanics, it can be very fun.
I rarely do see a game like this, but I used to have physical tilt mazes with a marble, and it looks like that.
It's only $8.39. So I'm gonna wishlist this one, to be honest with you.
I'm not seeing any Nintendo Switch Online editions that have been announced for November yet, but I'm sure we'll get something mid-month.
So that's the list. November is anchored by The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the 5th. We have Pikmin 4's Switch 2 edition on the 12th.
Stellar Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy, Metaphor Re-Fantazio, Shrek 2 Remastered.
We have Barbie Rewind. We have all these indies that we just saw at the Indie
World Showcase. It's going to be a fun month.
So I'm looking forward to November. And then before you know it, it'll be December. Time for the holidays. It's time to wrap up the year.
But unfortunately, that's going to wrap it up for today. I know that these first of the month episodes, they always run long. So I want to thank you so much for sticking with it.
We are past the 23-minute mark as it stands. Now, if you dig the show, if you have 20 more seconds, tap a star rating in Spotify, Apple Podcasts,
Pocket Casts, wherever you listen.
If you know someone with a switch to who wants to know what's coming out, what they should be checking out, wishlisting, send them this episode, right?
It's a good overview and a good way to introduce them to the show.
You can find everything, all the links at switch2pod.com. That's switch with the number two pod. I'm on Blue Sky and Instagram at switch2pod as well.
There is free bonus content at patreon.com, but I haven't been able to add anything new, unfortunately. Maybe the holidays will free me up and I'll just do like a massive dump of really good bonus content. I'm hopeful. We'll see.
I'll be back on Friday unless I get lost in the land of Hyrule because you know that I have Ocarina of Time reordered and ready to go.
I can't wait to receive it on Thursday like a little kid and just like unwrap the plastic and just like oogle at the cartridge, the game card and just pop it in and the intro sequence with the piano coming in and Link just riding across Hyrule Field.
I cannot wait for this game. I am so excited. I hope that you enjoy the week.
I want to thank you so much for your time and your attention.
Much love. Now go play some games.
