What's up and welcome to me, you and Switch 2. I am me, Tom Tate, and you are you. So let's talk about Switch 2. This is the latest and greatest

Nintendo Switch 2 news brought to you every Tuesday and Friday in snackable five to 10 minute episodes.

Today happens to be Tuesday. It is October 6th. It is 7.53 a.m.

On the East Coast. This is episode 141.

And after last week's 35 five-minute episode where we covered every Switch 2 game releasing in October. I promise you we're going to keep this one short and sweet, or at least I will do my very best. I hope that the weekend was fruitful for you, that you had a good time.

I saw two heavy, heavy instrumental bands from Chicago play a show Sunday night in Philadelphia. I love seeing live music, so I want to give a shout out to

Pelican and Russian Circles.

They absolutely crushed it. They were incredible.

Good times were seemingly had by all in the audience.

Just a good opportunity. Anytime I have an opportunity to see bands that I love, I try to take it.

It's hard to get to the city sometimes. I have kids, so it's tough to get out.

But live music is one of the things that really just kind of fills me up.

So hopefully you had an opportunity to do what you love to do this weekend.

And the news has been super light the past few weeks. I don't know if this is like the calm before the storm type of situation or if the gaming world is just kind of cooling down right now.

You know, obviously a lot of doom and gloom over layoffs and all kinds of things and RAM shortages and prices going up.

Maybe people are just waiting for GTA. I don't know, but I'm not cooling down.

I am still stoked on all things Switch 2. We have an amazing lineup of games coming out this fall.

There's no shortage of games to play, so I'm excited. Let's just get into the news today.

In terms of new releases, Paw Patrol Dino World released on the second.

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed releases today for $39.99.

There's so many games releasing on October 8th on Thursday I'm not going to cover all of them.

But you can listen to the episode from last Friday where I did cover all of them Order of the Sinking Star is Jonathan Blow's new puzzle game that comes out on Thursday forever ago from Annapurna Games the Kingdom Hearts collection, is coming out and this game Echo Weaver looks kind of cool that game's coming out as well on thursday, uh some of these games do have reviews already floating around so the kingdom hearts releases i did read through a bunch of reviews uh recently.

These are releasing their native Switch 2 versions. These are not cloud versions like we saw on Switch 1, which apparently had some poor quality performance issues.

People did not enjoy the cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts. They didn't enjoy the cloud versions of Resident Evil. So I think your mileage varied, you know, based on your internet connection and things like that.

But I'm excited to see these games find a home on Switch 2. And it sounds like reviewers were excited as well.

So you can buy these piecemeal for $40 each, or you can buy the full bundle, which gets you three titles, which gets you a whole bunch of games within those three titles for $74.99.

Nintendo World reports Neil Ronigan reviewed the bundle and gave it a 9.5.

The pros, Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3 are legitimately incredible, runs well on Switch 2, so much video game in one giant sized package, and the cons, some games show their age. So what are you actually getting?

I pulled the list straight from the Kingdom Hearts website. The first title,

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 plus 2.5 Remix, gets you Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, which is the first game.

Kingdom Hearts Rechain of Memories. Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, which is the second title.

You get Kingdom Hearts 358 over 2 days, which is just an HD cutscene compilation in this edition.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Recoded which is also an HD cutscene compilation.

You get three titles in the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue which is the second title you can purchase that comes with Dream Drop Distance HD.

Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover which is a movie, an HD movie, and Kingdom Hearts point to Birth by Sleep a Fragmentary Passage which is a short episode that connects Kingdom Hearts 2 to Kingdom Hearts 3 very confusing stuff,

And then very simply, in the third package, you get Kingdom Hearts 3, which is the latest main title, and the DLC, which is called Remind.

Nintendo Life's Mitch Vogel gave the first edition, which included Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, an 8 out of 10.

Joy's incredible value, uniformly excellent performance across all games, smooth gameplay and memorable characters, and cons.

Recoded and Days are just cutscenes. Those are the cutscene compilations.

And he gave Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 final chapter prologue a 7 out of 10.

The joys Kingdom Hearts 3D is a great game.

Kingdom Hearts 0.2 is enjoyable for what it is and the cons the mobile game cut scenes feel unnecessary and performance in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 can be a bit disappointing.

So good reviews for the performance of Kingdom Hearts. You likely have seen

Kingdom Hearts, You played Kingdom Hearts, so you know what to expect here.

I'm not going back to these games anytime soon, but maybe if my anticipation grows for Kingdom Hearts 4 enough, I will revisit some of these games or just watch a YouTube recap video.

George Yang over at Nintendo Life reviewed The Witcher 3, The Wild Hunt Remastered.

He gave this one a 9 out of 10. I haven't played The Witcher 3 yet, but a few friends swear by this game.

The joys, improved animations and visuals, smart switch-to features like mouse controls and motion gestures, great accessibility options, streamlined skill progression, and still an incredible action RPG.

The cons, combat is still just fine. performance issues persist like long loading times and laggy menus another game that i've been hearing a lot about is well dweller i've heard about this on a few podcasts that i listen to now this might be a fun one for halloween season because it has a bit of a dark kind of gloomy gothic art style uh here is the description from nintendo's website well dweller is a dark fairy tale metroidvania fuel full of charming characters living in a wretched kingdom play as Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a match stick.

It's only $16.99 right now. The regular price is $20.

Nintendo World Report's Willem Hillhorst reviewed this one, giving it a 9 out of 10, and he actually wrote, to me, this game is a surprise hidden gem.

Everything fits together so well, pun intended, and.

In a stacked year full of strong titles, this is another contender for my favorites of 2026 so willem enjoyed this game, i'm seeing again positive positive stuff the pros gothic and dark presentation sells the fairy tale vibe that the game is going for strong design choices make well dweller a joy to experience from beginning to end thoughtful iterations on the metroidvania that are natural fit and he gave it no cons so well dweller uh seems to be a sleeper hit,

Castlevania Belmont's Curse released a demo, and here's a nice bonus for us

Switch 2 players. Here's a quote from a GoNintendo article.

While Konami still remains quiet on the potential of an actual Switch 2 version of Castlevania Belmont's Curse, those who play on Nintendo's latest hardware will find a nice surprise.

While Castlevania Belmont's Curse runs at 30 frames per second on Switch, anyone playing on Switch 2 can enjoy the game at 60 frames per second.

So I haven't personally tried this demo yet, but looking forward to this one releasing later this month.

And we don't have a Nintendo Switch 2 edition yet, which is really interesting for Castlevania Belmont's Curse.

But it's nice to see that they're at least pushing the hardware a little bit just to get better performance out of it. So maybe eventually we'll get a Switch 2 version or we'll just get a souped up version of the game running the Switch 1 version. Who knows?

I think that's it for today. I'm going to link to another Go Nintendo article on Bloober Team's upcoming game that is called Onyx the Dark Grip, which is an interesting game that can only be played on handheld.

I've talked about this a few times. They talk about how this is an opportunity to build a relationship with Nintendo and Nintendo players.

And we talked last month about how this game is very old school Nintendo creative at its core, doing interesting stuff with the hardware. So this is a good one to watch.

I also read a few really positive reviews for Star Wars Galactic Racer, which is not coming to Switch 2, but I'm very hopeful that it's in the works.

I think we need more of these newer Star Wars titles, and maybe they're just quietly working on them.

All right that's going to be it for today i hope that you have a fantastic week i will be back on friday remember a kind rating or review helps me continue to grow the show and helps other listeners discover the show you can find everything you need at switch2pod.com that's switch with the number two pod, i'll be back much love now go play some games.
